In the famous factory of Epinal (Vosges department) around 1830 the French publisher Pellerin produced a beautiful Tarot de Besançon engraved by a young but very good artist, François Georgin (1801-1863). The cards were then painted manually, using a stencil, by other apprentices.
Subsequently, the Tarot Pellerin saw various reprints, all of very poor quality.
All Tarot lovers will be delighetd that this little jewel of popular art comes back to light today in the splendid first edition of 1830, edited by Giordano Berti, known throughout the world as one of the greatest experts in the history and esotericism of the Tarot.
The 78 FASCINATING hand-painted FIGURES (115 x 64 mm) have been reproduced on fine paper with a high cotton content, also suitable for fortune telling.
