Testimonial...Thoughts Directed towards Giordano Berti
Giordano Berti holds an undeniable significance in the realm of divination. When foundational texts are properly documented, they deserve attention from all those who study, read, and write about Tarot. During his stay in Brazil, Giordano Berti delivered a 4-hour lecture at Tarolog on November 22, 2014, titled "The True Origins of Tarot: A Story... Many Legends." Then, on November 24 and 25, also in Sao Paulo, he conducted a workshop titled "From Etteilla to Jodorowsky." Among the various premises, one was the oracle's approach as a tool to [re]construct stories – not only of the consultants but also of fictional characters.
Throughout the course, in which I personally participated as an Italian-to-Portuguese translator, we reviewed the concepts of the Arcana and learned new important information. It was an immense honor for me to translate Giordano Berti live, one of my main influences in the study of Tarot.
If you want to talk about the creation of Tarot decks, there are few people who have more stories to tell than Giordano Berti. A renowned authority on the themes of Esotericism in Art and in the History of Tarot, Giordano has also been directly involved in the creation of several decks, writing storyboards and collaborating with publishers and artists to bring us some of the most popular cards.oggi disponibili.

I've known Giordano Berti for nearly 40 years, and I can say that he is one of the most refined intellectuals I've had the pleasure of collaborating with. Together, we've organized the most significant exhibitions on the history and iconography of Tarot. Additionally, as a member of the Le Tarot Association, Giordano Berti has curated numerous other exhibitions in many Italian cities. I recall, for instance, those related to the history of esotericism and Western religiosity (on divinatory arts, witchcraft, biblical religions, demonology), those linked to medieval and Renaissance symbolism (on waters, plants, foods, the feminine world). The numerous books and splendid articles written by Giordano Berti, along with his engaging courses on art history and symbolism, testify to his extraordinary intellectual commitment. Beyond this, I believe it's important to emphasize his human value, which extends far beyond the bounds of knowledge.
Giordano Berti is one of the finest manufacturers, promoters, enthusiasts, and friends of the large international Tarot community, among other things. His business practices are impeccable; he is a man of his word, and his professional ethics are beyond reproach. I would have no hesitation in recommending Giordano for any reason within my knowledge. For the sake of transparency, I have also become, through his dealings, a "general" friend of his. I personally like him; he is a good man.
I got to know Giordano Berti in the distant year of 1993, when he began collaborating with the emerging magazine Charta, of which I was the editorial director. His first article under his name was titled: "Books of Fate. Popular Oracles" (Charta, Issue No. 5, p. 28). The subject matter intrigued me, but even more captivating was the eloquence of his brilliant and highly cultured writing on topics that were then still reserved for the initiated.
Berti's collaboration with Charta on themes of tarot, sibyls, symbols, in short, magical arts, as well as precise reporting on European and Italian libraries, has never ceased since then. It was only suspended for a long period when he informed me that he had become a publisher himself and therefore wouldn't have much time to dedicate to it. Now, Berti has promised to resume in a big way with a column dedicated to symbols, which aligns with the themes of the courses he has been organizing for years and has decided to put online. I am extremely pleased, and along with me, the entire NovaCharta staff is excited for the return of this "offspring" always abundant with new ideas.
